What is a pressure cleaner ?

A pressure washer is a cleaning machine that ejects water at high speeds from a outlet nozzle using either an electric or petrol powered motor to uptake, pressurise and accelerate water at high speeds. These can be fed with a garden hose and/or a water reservoir.

What size pressure washer do I need ?

Pressure washers can range from low level 1500psi to high powered 4000psi washers.

1500psi washers are suitable for cleaning/removing mould, dirt, grime, dust, mud and other loosely held debris. Whereas 4000psi washers can essentially clean the exact same as smaller machines, except also have the power to remove loose paint, chewing gum, stains and concrete from surfaces.

Will a pressure washer remove paint ?

Yes, a high powered pressure washer has the ability to remove either softened or loose paint, however there is a possibility in slightly damaging the surface below if it is a soft compound.

What safety procedures are required when using a pressure washer ?

Due to the high pressures produced by the washer, and potential debris being accelerated when cleaning it is important to wear adequate protection such as goggles, gloves, long pants and steal toed boots. Make sure to never point to water gun at either yourself or others and be careful not to accidentally spray fragile material such as glass or ceramics (because they have the potential to break).
